News release. May 23, 2001
Sherman County residents are invited to visit their Museum free of charge in June and July ... the window to Sherman County hearts and community, to Oregon’s heartland and to the story of the people of the Columbia Plateau. This nationally-recognized Museum is worthy of attention for its scholarship, hands-on activities, high quality interpretive exhibits, The Museum Store, publications, genealogy files and research library. Community members make this heart-of-the-county Museum the place to be.
The Sherman County Artist Series presents Sherman Pre-School youngsters' lively artistry in the Museum lobby through May. Second in this season's series is Pat von Borstel's Creative Stitchery during June. Pat is typical of the Museum's volunteers, engaged in the community in creative ways, and serves on the Museum Exhibit Team, chairs the Acquisitions Committee and serves as a Museum Host.
Open to the public, the Society’s annual meeting is set for one o’clock on Sunday, June 24, in Moro. Members and friends are invited to come for an interesting program, good food, fellowship and a brief business meeting, including election of Trustees and officers. Please call the Museum, 541-565-3232, to reserve your no host meal.
Museum visitors who wish to view the Artist Series, obtain brochures in the Sherman County Visitor Center or shop in The Museum Store are not charged admission. For more information call the Museum at 541-565-3232 or check the Museum web site, www.shermanmuseum.org.
