Historic Death Notices and Obituaries
Sherman County Death Notices and Obituaries

"Swimming was a big deal, and whenever we could get loose and get to the [Columbia] river, we swam. We mostly learned on our own, pushing a railroad tie or stick until we got confident...The school janitor went to a lot of work and built a float with a low diving board and that's where I first...dove in. It was cold...but the sand was warm."
Chet Coats
