Ninth Annual Christmas
Sale
It's
the holiday season and the Sherman County Museum invites you to its Ninth
Annual Christmas Sale and Book Signing by local author Jane Kirkpatrick on
Saturday, December 6, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Museum Store
in Moro Oregon.
The Museum Store will be filled with special gifts that reflect the history
and uniqueness of Sherman County. Pottery, wheat jewelry, clothing, hand
crafted items, toys, science projects, puzzles, games and Christmas
decorations will be available. The Museum Store has Oregon Trail Candy as well
as other food items for sale. New merchandise, including genealogy computer
programs, and books have arrived and will be available for your holiday
shopping pleasure.
The Sherman County Museum Store has long featured books by local author Jane
Kirkpatrick and the Museum is pleased to announce that Jane Kirkpatrick will
be at the store from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to sign her books.
The Museum Store also has an extensive inventory of Sherman County
out-of-print books for sale. Three titles available are by Giles L. French,
long-time Sherman County Journal publisher and editor: These Things We Note
from his column of the same name, The Golden Land, a history of the county,
and Cattle Country of Peter French. A special gift for the history buff would
be The History of the Columbia River Valley from The Dalles to the Sea, a
three-volume set compiled by Fred Lockley, 1928.
The Museum Store offers twenty years of local history and records in the
historical anthology titled Sherman County: For The Record. You can purchase
individual issues of Sherman County: For The Record or you can buy the
complete set at a special holiday price.
Finally, membership in the Sherman County Historical Society also makes a
wonderful holiday gift.
Please join us on Saturday, December 6, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at
the Sherman County Museum Store by the park in Moro Oregon. The Museum
will be open for viewing at no charge.
