Sherman County Historical Society and Museum Open Daily 10 until 5 May through October |
News Release. September 23, 2008
Sherman County Historical Society Moro - Woolen quilts and garments from the Sherman County Historical Museum collections will be featured during October's Sherman County Artist Series at the Museum in Moro.
Long preserved by Sherman County families and, now in the museum, heavy woolen quilts serve as stark reminders of long-ago winters without central heating systems, according to the museum's exhibit chair, Myrna Melzer. Sherman County's Gilliam and Wheeler county neighbors are invited to visit the Museum in October, free of charge, and to pick up Sherman County's three new brochures with itinerary maps at local business establishments or the museum. There's a lot going on in Sherman County with the recently restored Grass Valley Market, Oregon Raceway Park construction near Grass Valley, the new library under construction at Sherman Jr/Sr High School, housing construction, DeMoss Springs Memorial Park improvements, and some shops buzzing with activity. The Museum is open daily, 10 until 5, through October. See www.co.sherman.or.us <http://www.co.sherman.or.us> and www.shermanmuseum.org <http://www.shermanmuseum.org> . For more information, call a Museum Host at 541-565-3232.
