Sherman County Historical Museum extends an invitation with free admission to residents of Wheeler and Gilliam counties during the month of October. Visitors will enjoy interpretive exhibits, Patriotism: Pride and Anguish; Oregon Trails, Rails and Roads in Sherman County; Rural Living; Wheat through the Ages; and Cultivation, Conservation and Clothespins. The harvest cook shack, John Deere combine, Caterpillar tractor, Packard and a 1940s kitchen are favorites. The County’s Visitor Information Center and The Museum Store are located in the museum lobby. See www.shermanmuseum.org and www.co.sherman.or.us.
