adult, $1 per student, members and under six free. Off season by
appointment or during the summer season, the small research library in the lobby includes:
- To A six-drawer file cabinet holding family group sheets
for Sherman County families comprising personal collections of county residents,
information from printed histories, news clippings, vital statistics and
contributed materials; open to the public for making copies, additions
and corrections. Copies: 25 cents each.

The new Sherman County Public/School Library opened in 2009 at Sherman Jr./Sr. High School with a wide range of services for adults, students and children.
Sherman County's Best Oregon Trail Sites
Here
you will find a collection of some of the best places in Sherman County
to experience and view the Oregon Trail. Signs marking the Oregon
Trail and the Cut-off to the Barlow Road take visitors very close to the
actual routes. Many locations are marked and some you will even see the
wagon wheel ruts left by the overland migration.

The collection includes the county cemetery records up to 1964 in Yesterday’s
Roll Call.
Church records are not published with the
exception of those of the Wasco Methodist Church, a small mimeographed
publication called Gleanings. Inquiries must be directed to each
church individually.
The Illustrated History of Central Oregon,
1905, is available in Sherman County only in the Sherman County Historical
Museum research library by appointment. |
