The Columbia Plateau Museums Association offers museum personnel a spring workshop on serious issues at the Sherman County Historical Museum in Moro on April 22nd. Registration begins at 9:30, introductions at 10:00 and the program at 10:30.
Betty Long, Collections Manager for Maryhill
Museum of Art will present Policies for Long Term Loans, Policies for
Collections and Theft Policies. After lunch, Colleen Schafroth, Executive
Director of Maryhill Museum of Art will talk about putting together a
traveling trunk, obtaining funding for outreach and working in collaboration
with partners. Sherman County Museum Coordinator, Sherry Kaseberg, will
discuss exhibit production challenges and, with the Exhibit Team, provide a
tour of an exhibit in production, Cultivation, Conservation and Clothespins!
Participants are reminded to bring a supply
of their museum's brochures and materials for distribution to other
organizations in the Plateau region. Those attending will need to notify the
Sherman County Historical Museum at P.O. Box 173, Moro, OR 97039, Dorothy
Benson at dbenson4@juno.com or
Kaseberg at sherryk@gorge.net with
their choice of box lunch sandwich (ham, turkey or vegetarian) for $6,
payable on the 22nd, by April 17th.
The Sherman County Historical Museum opens
for the summer season on May 1. Hours are 10 to 5 daily through October. For
