Sherman County's nationally-recognized Museum in Moro opened on May 1st. It's worthy of attention for its scholarship, hands-on activities, high quality interpretive exhibits, The Museum Store, publications, genealogy files and research library. Community members make this heart-of-the-county Museum the place to be. The Sherman County Artist Series presents fabric artist, Carol McKenzie of Wasco, during May. An extraordinary hand with quilts and wearable art, Carol has several wall hangings on display in the Museum lobby. School children from Cascade Locks visited the Museum on the 9th with their parents and teachers. Tea and cookies for Mother's Day with author Jane Kirkpatrick on hand for a book signing attracted over 60 people. The Obsidian Club of Eugene brought 44 travelers to the Museum as they wound up a week-long journey in the region. The Museum is open daily from ten until five. Visitors who wish to view the Artist Series, obtain brochures in the Sherman County Visitor Center or shop in The Museum Store are not charged admission. For more information call the Museum at 541-565-3232 or check the Museum web site www.shermanmuseum.org.
