Summer Display of Selected Artifacts

The Sherman County Historical Museum staff is pleased to announce a summer display of selected artifacts which were donated to the museum in 2007 and 2008.

Collectively, Kristen Hovis, Charlie Wheeler, Neva Balzer Smith, Grace M. Busse, Kathy McCullough, Clyde and Carline Cratty, Dean M. Wilcox, M.D. and Helen Lundeen contributed important objects to the collections. These include a railroad guide, a child's woolen bathing suit, DeMoss Dance Band sheet music, Jane Sherar's bible, a photograph of the Rosebush School, a mouse trap, World War II navigational plotter, and a cash register from George Wilcox's Grass Valley Pharmacy.

Along with artifacts, donors provide information that is used for documentation and future exhibits. These artifacts may go into storage to be used in future exhibits or research, or directly into existing exhibits which comprise 84% of the museum's space.

Sherman County Historical Museum, 18 miles south of Biggs Junction, is open from ten until five daily May through October. For more information contact the Museum, 541-565-3232.
