Moro, OR – Take a walk on the rural side at the national-award-winning Sherman County Historical Museum in Moro, Oregon opening for the season on May 1st.  The Museum is operated by friendly volunteers and located next to the Moro City Park and serves as the Sherman County Visitor Center.  Come visit us!  We are open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. May through October.
 
Experience the first-rate interpretive and hands-on exhibits:  Oregon Trails, Rails and Roads in Sherman County, Wheat Through the Ages, Rural Living, Patriotism: Pride and Anguish, Cultivation, Conservation and Clothespins, and The Sherman County Journal: Paper, Ink & Presses.  Visitors enjoy making rubbings from the replica Native American rock art, hands-on grinding of grain to flour, dressing up in replica Oregon Trail clothing, practicing weights and measures on scales, hanging out in the tee-pee or doing research with our  genealogy files.
 
During the month of May, plan on celebrating a series of events with the Sherman County Historical Museum.  Displayed in the lobby will be artwork by Sherman Elementary Students,  on Saturday, May 11th at 3pm Sherman County’s Macnab Sisters will have a Cookbook signing, It’s All Relative, and May 13th at 8:30 a.m. be entertained with Teddy Roosevelt’s Tour of Oregon, and at the end of the month Veterans Recognition Week.
