The Society, which the Museum operates under, was organized in 1945. Many collections and important pieces of history including the historic photographs of Will Raymond of Moro, Oregon, are proudly displayed in our nationally award winning museum since 1983. The volunteer and community support received is a vital component of the operation of the museum.
Membership benefits include free admission, a 10% discount in the Museum Store, two issues of the newsletter, The Plow, and two issues of the historical anthology, Sherman County: For The Record.
We appreciate donations of any size! Donations help to keep our museum open and running. Online donations are automatically placed in the general fund.
Memorial gifts and cumulative contributions of $1,000.00 are recognized with brass plaques in the Sherman County Historical Museum.
From a population of 1,900 citizens, the Sherman County Historical Museum fields a volunteer corps of many individuals -- an astounding level of participation. Volunteers serve in three groups.
