Sherman Development League Grant Awarded

Moro, OR – Sherman County Historical Society Board of Trustees is pleased to announce a generous grant from the Sherman Development League.

The Sherman County Historical Museum volunteer team set goals of working with the photo and artifact collections this past winter and it became apparent that additional workspace was needed.  A request to the SDL was made for a computer, software, file cabinets and miscellaneous items to allow museum volunteers to re-organize all of the current workspace.  By receiving this grant, the volunteers re-designed their space, added a computer workstation and focused on the goals to perform data entry of the collections, digitize photos and research on the web.  The volunteer team at the Sherman County Historical Museum appreciates having the additional space and computer as they donate their time, expert skills, and behind the scene workforce to uphold the mission statement of the Sherman County Historical Society to gather, preserve, research, interpret and exhibit objects and materials related to Sherman County.

This national award-winning museum in Moro is open daily May through October from 10 am to 5 pm.  For more information visit our Facebook page and website: www.shermanmuseum.org
